All new patients are offered a health check on registration. Health promotion is very high on our list of priorities and a full health check can be arranged by appointment with the Practice Nurse. Please bring a urine sample with you. Any registered patient, 16 to 75 years of age who has not attended a clinic or consultation in the last 3 years, can request a health check. Any patient over 75 not seen in the last 12 months can request a health check. If clinically indicated this may be done as a home visit.
A full range of family planning services is provided. In order to accommodate our patients as much as possible, contraceptive advice can be obtained from a doctor or the Practice Nurse during any of the normal surgeries. Please see Dr J Pears if you are interested in being fitted with an IUCD (coil) or a contraceptive implant. Implants are also done by Dr N Batten.
Monday 9.10-11.00am run by the community midwife. Regular appointments are made throughout the pregnancy to ensure mother and baby's wellbeing.
This is held weekly on a Tuesday afternoon. It is run by Dr Richard Fletcher and Nurse Jane Jeffery.
Immunisation Clinics are run by Nurse Jenny McLoughlin at the surgery on Wednesday afternoons by appointment only. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment.
Child Health Clinics are run by the Health Visiting teams on:
- Tuesday 1:00pm - 2:30pm at Ripon Moorside School in the portakabin which is accessed by the main entrance off the Harrogate Road
- Wednesday 1:30 - 3:00pm at Ripon Community House
These are both drop in clinics, please ensure that you arrive 15 minutes before the finish time.
Chronic Disease Management
From time to time you may be asked to attend the surgery for a health check and a review of medication.
Well Man/Woman Checks
May be arranged with the Practice Nurse by enquiring at reception.
All of the doctors are able to carry out a wide range of minor surgical procedures by arrangement. If you have a wart or verruca needing attention, these are treated with liquid nitrogen. Please see the doctor who will make you an appointment or refer you if required.
We are able to offer a full service to screen those with loss of hearing. Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse.
We are a registered Yellow Fever Centre and are able to offer this among our full range of other travel vaccinations and advice (NB: a fee may be payable and you may be asked to pay in advance, some vaccinations are very expensive).
